My
experiences will help you educate your students about the
dangers they face from one of the most common, seemingly
innocent, problems on campus.
Headlines from across the country reveal that while the drinking
age is 21 years old, students begin much earlier.
According to the American
Psychiatric Association: Fifty percent of all college
students drink alcohol and 25% binge drink.
According to the University of North Carolina Bowles Center
for Alcohol Studies the effects of binge drinking can
stay with students for the rest of their lives.
And we all know it's not as simple as getting
drunk. Alcoholism and binge drinking have a social impact on
students far beyond the inevitable hangover. The National Institute on
Alcohol Abuse’s Task Force on College Drinking says:
More than 97,000 students between the ages of
18 and 24 are victims of alcohol-related sexual assault or date
rape each year. And hundreds of thousands of students are
injured or assaulted because of alcohol.
My talks:
I will help
students overcome the challenges that face them as they seek ways to
de-stress, have fun, and get the most out of their education.
